Why We’re Different

When we began Surf Hatteras we truly believed that we were offering something unique, and ever since, this fact has been overwhelmingly confirmed by the testimonies of campers and parents.

Like so many, our first inspiration was a simple love for surfing, an experience that we wanted to share with the next generation. But we noticed that something wasn’t quite right with summer surf camps. Somewhere along the way the organic adventure of learning to surf among family and friends was traded for the now all-too-familiar scene of overcrowded day camps fighting for tiny waves in confined spaces. Sure, it’s still fun. But there is so much more! So we set out to do something different.
